Beds & Bucks 009 stand, as it appeared at the Sharnbrook exhibition in December.
Nine of us managed to find Stephen Clulow’s new house for an enjoyable afternoon of watching engines go round his small but very detailed layout ‘First’ and much chatter about many topics.
Bob Menzies brought 2 new Minitrains locos, a Decauville Progres and a Schneider Locotracteur which he had received in the post the previous morning. Both ran superbly straight from their boxes. Malcolm Harrison ran a Joffre on a Roco chassis and 2-4-7 kit of WHR Russell on another Roco chassis plus a box of other goodies.
Chris Krupa demonstrated the use of a North West Shortline guillotine and David Gander showed us a Bachmann Scenecraft Incline Winding Engine which had a lot of really fine detail. Brian Key brought a box of NG modelling books which Milton Keynes model railway group had donated to us. They were free but many of us already possessed several of them but we all found at least one title that we were pleased to take home. He went home with a much lighter load. The afternoon was rounded off with a lovely selection of rolls and cakes into which we made good inroads very quickly.
